Evita Kalogiropoulou is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Crete, specialised in the study of combustion features, commensality and the social interplays developed around cooking practices. She holds a PhD from Cardiff University (2014), about cooking spaces and their role to the formation of social identities in the Greek Neolithic. Her research is engaged with aspects of social space, everyday performances, household diversities, settlement configurations and landscape habitation choices. Evita has developed a theoretically informed and methodologically pluralistic research profile, approaching archaeological material with different tools, like GIS applications and geophysical prospection, while recently she has been trained in methods of geosciences. Successive to her doctoral studies she was a postdoctoral researcher in well-established projects at the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS/FORTH) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and a Visiting Fellow at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, Cambridge.

As the Principal Investigator of the BONDS project, Evita is working closely with each team member and oversees project monitoring, team coordination, research, and workshop organization. Her role includes the macroscopic and microscopic study of combustion features, selection of outdoor study units, sampling, spatial configurations, analysis and synthesis of all data produced in the project.
