This research campaign was organised around two case study sites of the BONDS project, Imvrou Pigadi in Thessaly and Kleitos 1 in Kozani. First stop was at the site Imvrou Pigadi, where the Principal Investigator of the project Evita Kalogiropoulou and Dimitris Roussos, the Research Associate on geoarchaeology, completed macroscopical analysis of the combustion features and geoarchaeological sampling in selected features and sediments. Geoarchaeological samples were transferred to the Malcom H. Wiener Laboratory for Archaeological Science at the American School of Classical studies at Athens and from there samples will be transferred to the Charles McBurney Laboratory for Geoarchaeology at the University of Cambridge, U.K. for soil micromoprhology processing. Subsequently, Evita travelled to Kozani, where she studied combustion features from the Neolithic site Kleitos 1 and selected next sampling targets.
